2012 Progress & Beyond

In 2012, SCS posted record revenue and pre-tax earnings as operating revenue1 increased by 5% while pre-tax profits grew 10%. SCS finished the year strong with record fourth quarter new sales and the majority of growth coming from customers new to outsourcing. Operating revenue for dedicated services grew 11% for the year.

Central to overall growth in SCS is Ryder’s focus on delivering the best in execution. This focus has translated into new business from longstanding customers in industries where we have ongoing, profitable relationships. We also continue to develop new offerings to expand and deepen our relationships in targeted industry segments, such as retail and CPG. CPG is now our largest industry segment, following the 2010 acquisition of Total Logistic Control, and Ryder is quickly becoming a major force in that market.

Ryder Dedicated is targeting growth by providing value-added, specialized services for our customers and through continued collaboration with other Ryder capabilities such as Transportation Management. Ryder Dedicated is enhancing its appeal by making its solutions more flexible and by highlighting to existing and prospective customers that we can serve as their transportation department.

With our continued commitment to providing the best execution, we are confident that our new initiatives, heightened capabilities and improved services will translate to strong growth opportunities over the next several years.
