Acting responsibly is what
we do.

For Ryder, sustainability means delivering success for every stakeholder: shareholders, customers, employees, suppliers and communities where we work and live. Our solutions ease complexity for companies of all sizes, provide careers for an ever more diverse population, and give back to our communities. Ryder’s contributions to the economy and society start with a commitment to getting the right results, the right way.

At Ryder, sustainability starts with a commitment to high ethical standards and strong corporate governance. This commitment goes beyond laws, rules and regulations to their original source in the principles of character and leadership. Environmental Innovation

At Ryder, we play a key role in advancing environmental stewardship through practices that reduce risk and build value. With best in class vehicle technologies, maintenance services, logistics engineering, and fueling services, we offer customers industry leading performance, optimized fuel efficiency, and reduced carbon emissions. Our continued leadership in natural gas vehicles for the commercial transportation industry is just one way we are demonstrating our commitment to delivering solutions that make sense for business and the planet.

Investing in People

People are Ryder’s greatest resource and our biggest differentiator in the marketplace. This means we are focused on attracting and retaining the best and brightest, keeping them safe, and investing in their development so they can achieve their full potential. We are particularly proud of our support of the military as we recruit and hire veterans into our workforce. In 2012, we renewed out commitment to participate in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Veterans Employment Advisory Council, an initiative focused on enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve career opportunities for veterans.

Giving Back

Supporting communities where we operate is important to Ryder. Our tradition of philanthropy and volunteerism goes back 80 years. Today, our company, our communities and the charities we support are stronger because of Ryder’s contributions and the efforts and generosity of Ryder’s employees.

Ryder employees are active in their communities – organizing donation drives, hosting fundraisers, or serving as board members with not-for-profit organizations. Ryder also makes contributions to non-profit organizations through the Ryder Charitable Foundation to address important social needs and improve the quality of life for people in our communities. For example, in 2012, Ryder renewed its $1 million, multi-year relationship with our primary national philanthropic partner, the American Red Cross, as a member of the Annual Disaster Responder Program.
